I just thought you might like to know that a mention of Hama-chan made Izumi rather defensive earlier. To the point that he actually pinned Tajima to the floor when Tajima started teasing him about it. I think that's worth noting.
Come to think of it, he's been rather quiet about Hama-chan for the most part. That's worth pointing out, too.

So it is now officially my birthday. ...and I honestly can't think of anything I want. At all.
Though I suppose I really don't mind this.

We're watching the NLDS, and at one point the commentators described Kendall's work behind the plate favorably, saying that he had thus far guided the pitching staff through the Phillies lineup very well.
Of course, then there were those two consecutive home runs. That's what happens when you say stuff. (Admittedly, though, both pitches hit were left up in the zone, so it was not Kendall's fault.)
Also, writing a paper on a military officer becomes significantly more difficult to concentrate on when your pitcher is claiming he's freezing and keeps snuggling up to you in the hopes that you will do something to keep him warm.

Those damn Strawberry Kanou songs are on
1863_project's iPod now. The ones where I have to be the fucking rancher. This is ridiculous.
At least Mihashi has a part in this dub, too. (Actually, now that I look at this dub, it's completely Tosei-less. I guess the rest of us are just picking up the idea, too...)

Who the hell "bounces out?" I've seen fly outs and ground outs and pop outs and strikeouts, but never a "bounce out."
The people calling the baseball games for the Olympics clearly have never called a game in their lives.
Okay, that aside, don't believe anything Mihashi tells you about his bullpen session this weekend - he definitely is looking better. Even if he says he's not sure he is. He's been getting some fantastic movement on his breaking stuff lately, and he might just have added a tiny bit of velocity, too. He's looking brilliant right now.

I think Hanai appreciated this more than anyone else, but check out this guy's hat from today...
I can't really write too much, as Mihashi and I are scheduled to throw a session tonight, but today was actually a very nice day to be outside...and it was sort of nice to watch people play for a change, because then we got to be critical of what they were doing. Mihashi noticed that one of the starting catchers in the game we saw bore a resemblance to Hatake, too, which he wasn't too excited about, but I told him he could at least make fun of fake!Hatake every time the guy messed up. It helped, I think.

I have no idea why I'm agreeing to post these photos, but here they are. They're from a library supply catalog that
1863_project's mother gets in the mail to order from.
I'm almost frightened by the children in this catalog. They're all making weird faces (like the picture Izumi posted - that one's just messed up).

We've been licensed.
I knew that we had been licensed a couple of weeks ago, but the official page is now up, and only now do I see that it was Funimation who licensed us. I hear that they do not have the best track record in the world, so I am concerned about this. Additionally, the name of the series was actually translated into English -
1863_project has told me that she does not believe this was necessary and that she is still going to call it Oofuri. Frankly, I do not blame her at all.
Oh, and interestingly enough, they also appear to think that Abe is my first name. It's not that difficult - if my name is written as 'Abe Takaya,' that means that Abe is my last name and Takaya is my first name. See, easy. But here's part of their description:
(...Also, when did the exclamation point show up? There isn't one in the original title...)

With the help of catcher, Abe Takaya, and his teammates, maybe Ren can regain his self-confidence and lead the team to victory.So...apparently Abe is now my first name. Wait until they have to translate the part where my mother shows up and they get confused.

Last night I was forced to read this out loud. It is a story by Peter Chimaera about Wyatt Earp. I have no idea why I agreed to it, but here it is nonetheless.
The 'Half-Life fic' mentioned in the afterword is, according to
1863_project, the famed Quarter-Life: Halfway to Destruction.

I was forced to run a bunch of errands today. Actually, we all were, and since it ended with
1863_project picking up a job application it means we could potentially all be forced to go to work with her at the store where her mother buys teaching supplies. On Saturdays, this might even mean doing arts and crafts with small children.
I'm the oldest in my family. Arts and crafts with small children tends to be messy and annoying, and since I have a little brother I can speak from experience on that one. I doubt I'll enjoy that part of it too much unless I get to boss the kids around (because that, as anyone knows, can be incredibly fun sometimes). The rest of it just looks like it'll be normal work, which isn't bad at all...it's the kids that worry me. I just hope I don't snap and yell at them or something. I honestly wouldn't surprise myself if I did, too.

I only did this for one reason. And I was successful.
He didn't have the one name I find, erm...really funny, but I beat him anyway. LOOK, TAJIMA.
(I also knocked off two of Sakaeguchi's high scores doing this. I guess I'm good at it. Not that I necessarily enjoy it - this was just to exact some personal revenge on that cowboy.)

Last night, we were playing that, erm, video game that shall not be named, and we discovered at about three in the morning that one of Sakaeguchi's high scores (on Noah's Ark, I believe) had been beaten by a cowboy.
A cowboy named Scrotum.
And I thought this was hysterically funny and I really cannot explain why.

This morning, it got even worse when Mizutani decided to watch Dora the Explorer (which may or may not be an excuse for him to scream at the television in Spanish). He turned the TV on...and everyone was dressed like a cowboy. My mind went back to 'Scrotum' and I had to leave the room.
I think staying up late with this game has made me snap. Someone help me.
